About

Our vision is to offer First Nation communities and remote communities support with developing their infrastructure using timber frame practices. We understand that not all communities will be set up to take our education programs. We are set up to build frames that can be delivered and set up on site. With our courses we stick with a specific building design but for building contracts we are happy to customize.

Why Timber Framing?

We love timber frames for multiple reasons. There is nothing that displays the beauty of wood quite like it. There are multiple reasons that draw people to the timber frame practices. Coming from a long history of wood joinery methods which built communities throughout history timber frames continue to make amazing homes. These frames display how strong and artistic our natural resources can be.

Benefits

Building a timber structure will offer the following benefits:

1. Timber frames can be built from selectively harvesting natural materials from our forests. A lot of communities hire contracting companies and source materials from elsewhere when you can be milling wood from your own land and build your own fortified homes from wood.

2. Timber frame homes are very versatile and customizable. Using different wood joinery it can be an incredibly modular form of building. Once your frame is raised there are many ways you can envelope these homes depending on the look you are seeking. You can work with wood, stone, earth walls, conventional framing, SIP panels or ICF to accommodate your taste and R value that you are going for.

3. Timber frames have stood the test of time through the centuries. These sturdy homes are build to last for lifetimes. In this day and age we see lots of ressources go to waste and many homes being torn down to be rebuilt. Timber frames can be renovated or reclaimed and repurposed but will provide a home for ages. The strength of wood is incredible and we love seeing homes that last.

Built to last for generations to come

Timber frame homes may not be the fastest building method but they open up your opportunities with building from the land sustainably and making homes that will last for the generations to come. We spend a lot of time in our homes so why not be inspired by the beauty of your home and feel connected to where the resources come from.
